Except for those who like to test the durability of devices and their accessories meant to protect them – like us, you probably are as careful as possible with your device. As even though the screens (and the rest of the device) are made to be as durable as possible, they’re still fragile. Heck, we’ve even had a customer come in and tell us that their dog sat on their closed laptop which resulted in their broken laptop screen. We get it, accidents happen even to the best of us no matter how hard we try and avoid them.

Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is once the screen on your device is cracked, you will have to replace the screen. Don’t get us wrong, you may be able to put of replacing the screen for a but dependent on the extent of the damage. But, the longer you put it off, the worse the functionality of the screen will get. For example:

• With a touchscreen, you eventually will not be able to use even it’s most basic functions. Even if you were able to use the screen in the beginning. Unless it’s the power, home, or volume buttons of course. And in this day and age, if it happens to your smartphone device especially, it will affect even the simplest of tasks. Such as making a call, unlocking your phone, or even answering a call.
• Or if it were to happen to your laptop’s LCD screen, you’ll have to find a different way to view what you’re doing on the laptop. Such as hooking up the laptop to an external monitor or TV with the correct cable via an output port. Which will vary extremely dependent on the year, make, and model of your laptop and the external monitor or TV. But, if you get the right ones you can essentially use your laptop temporarily as a desktop.

The problem is though… just like with a leaky roof, if left alone the issue can become more than only a cracked or broken screen. With the advances in technology, everything is getting smaller and more compact – leaving no room for error. In other words, one small crack on the screen can eventually surmount to some real damage to your device. Therefore, the sooner you get the damaged screen replaced? The better.
